Looks as though crews will face more than the challenge of the 3 mile upstream course and other competitors. Weather forecast for Sunday is for 80% chance of rain with 12 to 15 mph winds swinging from N to NNE [that is a headwind for 1.5 miles to the Weeks Footbridge; crosswind for .5 miles to the Newell Boathouse; and a quartering head to tailwind for the last 1.5 miles around that long port side Cambridge Boat Club turn]. Without factoring the wind chill, high temperature for the day should be 47F with a low of 40F. Forecast for Saturday is more of the same but with 50% chance of precipitation. Sounds a lot like the forecast for Yankee Stadium tonight for the ALCS.
Look to the articles from Navy Sports and Yale Sports below for more detail.
There are also four articles on the HOCR from www.row2k.com that provide background and some real interesting factoids.
And if you have interest look to the Club 4+ for a battle of capitalists —
Yale School of Management [Entry 53] vs. Harvard Business School [Entry 58]. The Harvard Law School entry is in Club 8+.
There a number of BLUE CREW alumni boats and I am sure alumni rowers and coxswain. Give a shout out so we can follow your fun.
BTW: It looks like all of the USMA crews are entered in club events.
GO BLUE!
Cheers!
Best Regards,
