NavyLights alumni from the 1970’s recall the Smith Trophy as a combined heavyweight and lightweight team point trophy competed for between Navy and Princeton.
Reference to the Smith Trophy first appears in NAAA lightweight crew records in 1976; however, alumni from the earlier-70’s era crews recall racing for the trophy.
