Navy lightweight rowing began in 1954 with the seating of a varsity eight that rowed in the 1954 EARC Sprints Championship.
Navy and Cornell have met four times in spring match racing: 1956, 1988, 2001, and 2025.
The 2001 race was a competition between NavyLights and Cornell’s heavyweight crew.
With that caveat, Cornell leads head-to-head competition 3 – 1.
