Navy lightweight rowing began in 1954 with the seating of a varsity eight that rowed in the 1954 EARC Sprints Championship.
Nineteen fifty-five was Navy’s first season of lightweight rowing, and they met Dartmouth that year in the first Navy – Dartmouth match race, which was won by Navy.
Navy and Dartmouth have met only four times in match races: 1955, 1959, 1968, and 2025.
Dartmouth leads the head-to-head competition 3 – 1.
