The Joy Of Sculling – One With The Boat

troubled

     distracted


I come to the catch and row

my mood is transformed

listening to my tender craft

water gurgles underneath





cycle of rowing


catch

     draw

          release

                 recover


horizontal stroke

gentle hold on the handles

feel the blades and the water





relaxed and at ease


tension gone

     effortless strokes


nearing perfection 


the swing comes 

     I ghost along 


time stands still 

     one with the boat
