* The Freshmen race ended in protest as a yard patrol boat carrying spectators drifted across the course making the Coast Guard boat alter to the finish line. Although the Navy boat had the lead before the Coast Guard boat altered course, the referee honored the protest and re-ran the last 850 meters of the race. In the second running Coast Guard out-stroked Navy to take the win.
