4/10/2010 – All Blue Crews on the Water This Weekend

Folks….

All the Blue Crews will be racing this weekend.

Navy LWs [ranked #4 in the most recent – 31 March USRowing poll] will travel to Orchard Beach, Pelham, Long Island to race the #7 Columbia Lions LWs.

The men’s lightweight crew team (1-1) will look to continue its success from a weekend ago, as it defeated Yale in the first varsity race to bring home the Eads Johnson Trophy. The Mids also defeated the Bulldogs in the first and second freshmen races. At last year’s three-team race against Columbia and Princeton, the Midshipmen finished ahead of the Lions in every race, including a 21.6-second victory in the first varsity event.

“We’ve had a consistent week of training and have made some adjustments to prepare for this weekend,” stated Navy men’s lightweight crew head coach Steve Perry. “The team is excited for another weekend of tough racing.”
